I’m going to enjoy writing this negative review. If Precision Door Service is going to send an obnoxious, arrogant technician out to my home to argue with me about a product his company sold and installed, then I have no hesitation telling people about it. I purchased a garage door from Precision Door Service about 10 months ago for approximately $1,300. One of the features I was specifically sold on was the ability to operate the door from my cell phone. When it was installed, the technician stapled a QR code to the wall and told me to scan it to get everything set up. The problem is, the QR code doesn't take you to an app or to clear setup instructions. It takes you to a third-party website selling garage door parts. I searched the site and couldn't find anything explaining how to connect my phone to my garage door. I even called Precision for help and was told to download the MyQ app, only to discover that MyQ was for a different brand than the one they installed. Recently, my 10-month-old garage door started having problems, so Precision sent a technician to my home for warranty service. While he was there, I asked if he could also help me get the phone feature working. His response was unbelievable. He went on about him only being able to point me in the right direction because making the system work would require him to change my IP address and router settings (something that is not true). His solution was to point me to the QR code and every time I tried to explain what happened when I scanned the code, he interrupted me or talked over me. At one point, I asked him to scan the code and show me how it works and he refused telling me he know how it works because he has the link open on his iPad. When I asked to see his iPad, he showed me an entirely different screen than the one my code opened. Eventually he scanned the code himself and then spent roughly 10 minutes searching the website trying to find what he had been insisting should be obvious to me. Finally, he showed me a picture of a garage door part and said, "Here it is. You just didn't look hard enough." When I looked at his iPad, it showed me picture of a garage door part for purchase, not an App. When I pointed this out to him, he argued that this is exactly what I need and if I'd looked harder, I would've found it. My favorite was the moment I asked him to stop interrupting me so I could explain what I was trying to say. He literally interrupted me while I was asking him not to interrupt me and then argued that he wasn't interrupting me. I laughed and said, "You're interrupting me right now" which resulted in him throwing up his hands and saying "I'm done. I'm leaving because you're a difficult customer." (Apparently asking a service technician to let you finish a sentence and demonstrate something he insists should work makes you a difficult customer.) He also made a point of telling me that it was 8:00 in the morning and he was at my house trying to fix my garage door, as though he was doing me some kind of personal favor. He wasn't. The garage door is 10 months old and still under warranty. Showing up to service a product your company sold and installed is part of the job. And that's really the issue here. I wasn't upset because the technician didn't immediately know the answer. Nobody knows everything. Had he simply said, "I'm not sure. Let me figure it out," there wouldn't have been a problem. Instead, he was arrogant, argumentative, dismissive and obnoxious. He talked over me, insisted I was wrong before checking for himself, told me I "didn't look hard enough" when he couldn't find it either, and then called me a difficult customer when I challenged what he was telling me. Precision Door Service should think carefully about who they send out to customers' homes. I spent $1,300 on a garage door that isn't even a year old. Expecting Precision Door Service to stand behind it, answer reasonable questions about a feature they sold me, and treat me with basic respect shouldn't be asking too much. After this experience, I would not recommend Precision Door Service.

the technician responded quickly to my Saturday call when I discovered my garage cable snapped. I had options and decided to replace the door. my only negative comment involved the length of time it took to get my door ordered. other than that, once it arrived and I scheduled replacement the process went well. the young man who installed the door was professional, courteous and got the job completed timely.

My experience with Precision Doors failed in comparison to any of the other three estimates I received. First did not show me what would be done, just took down information on his laptop. All others went through work to be done. When I asked the price he told me it would be 1700.00 and with the 200.00 valuepak coupon would bring it down to 1500.00. I asked if I paid cash would it lower the cost. Said they accept check or money order. I then inquired about using my Visa card, he said if I did there would be an additional 3.00% added. All others accepted credit card with no additional fee. The invoice I received started with a 1775.00 price and balance of 1632.91. He took off the 200.00, but added a 53.25 electronic processing fee. Not sure what that even is and never mentioned in speaking with technician Pat. All other company estimates were lower and exactly as discussed with no other fees. My neighbor was with me so there was no mistaking the 1500.00 total estimate is what I was told.

Hi Patti, I'm so sorry you weren't happy with your experience with Pat. It sounds like there was a lot of confusion. All of our estimates include a processing fee for credit card or financed invoices. This is removed should you pay with cash or check. That would bring the total to the $1500. We also have a price match guarantee. We will be any written estimate by 5% should you find a similar product for the a lower price.

Precision Door did an amazing job. My door looks great and the technician (matt) was very helpful. My only suggestion is to make call in process easier. Phone service can be frustrating.

Mike Okonzak was excellent. He arrived when he said he would. He had to replace our two car garage door. Before he began, Mike explained everything he was going to do. When he finished, he showed me what he did. He explained to me how to care for the garage door and the track as well as the importance of using silicone spray as opposed to WD-40. We’re extremely happy with Mike’s high quality workmanship and the high quality materials that Precision offers. Unfortunately, we previously had work done several times by their competitor. Seeing the difference between the two regarding the workmanship and the materials is like “night and day.”

On a Saturday afternoon, the spring on my garage door broke. I called Precision Garage Door and a service technician was at our house within 2 hours, and it wasn't even an emergency call for service. Rob from Precision did a complete inspection of the door and explained what should be replaced, and the cost of repairs. We opted to go with a rebuild package, which carried a 7 year warranty on parts and labor. Rob did a great job with the repairs, showed us some damaged parts that would have failed had they not been replaced, and was very thorough. Rob represents your company extremely well, and is a great asset to Precision Garage Door. I definitely would highly recommend Precision Garage Door.
